Pacuare Eco-Lodge

Built in 2011, we were thoughtful with our design and property location to fit in with the Pacuare river and surrounding jungle. And we’ve been delighted with the result. Our Pacuare Eco-lodge is comfortable and captivates with activities. This lodge is included with the booking of one of our experiences such as the 3-Day Adventure or 2-Day Pacuare River Trip.

Thoughtfully designed

The Pacuare River is located in the jungle and is full of biodiversity. We designed our lodge to immerse you in that experience. Resort-style lodges found elsewhere would be out of touch with what makes the Pacuare River corridor so special, which is why our rooms are open air and our main area encourages a shared experience.

Rustic yet comfortable

While purposely not a five-star hotel, we still provide comfortable amenities including hot showers, flush toilets, and soft beds. In other words, this isn’t camping. And after an adventure filled day, you’ll be right at home as you settle into one of our rooms.

Relax or explore

Our Tarzan Swing is jaw (and stomach) dropping, the zipline course is the longest on the Pacuare and we even have our own waterfall that you can jump off of. If any of that sounds like a bit much, then curl up with a book in your room or in a hammock with a warm cup of tea. The day is yours.

Our Pacuare Eco-Lodge offers a lot and it’s important that you select the right experience based on what you’re looking for.

  • If you’re looking for the waterfall jumping, zipline course, and Tarzan swing, then our 3-Day Adventure offers everything.
  • For those on a tighter schedule than our 2-Day Pacuare has enough time for our Tarzan swing towards the end of day one.
  • Longer, custom itineraries do have the opportunity to spend as many nights at the lodge as they like which offers all of the activities mentioned above.

Während der Planung unserer mehrwöchigen Costa Rica Reise sind wir auf das Pacuare Outdoor Center gestoßen und haben dort einen 2-Tages Raftingtour inkl. Übernachtung in der zugehörigen Lodge gebucht. Zugegeben, der auf den ersten Blick etwas hohe Preis hat mich anfangs nachdenklich gemacht, aber was die Jungs (und Damen) vom Outdoor Center im Laufe dieser 2 Tage geboten haben, war absolut spitze. Das Rafting am (doch ziemlich anspruchsvollen) Pacuare River an sich ist schon ein tolles Erlebnis. Mit einem sehr symphatischen Guide an Bord und einem separaten Safety-Begleiter haben wir uns, obwohl wir Neulinge in diesem Bereich sind, immer absolut sicher gefühlt. Zweimal gabs Mittagessen am Fluss, zubereitet von den beiden Guides, absolut top. Die Lodge liegt direkt im Regenwald, in den großen und sehr sauberen Zimmern (bzw. Häuschen) gibts kein Licht, also nur romantischen Kerzenschein, dafür aber Toilette und Dusche. Es ist ein absoltues Erlebnis einmal mitten im Urwald schlafen zu gehen, ohne Lichter ringsum, nur die Natur. Toll, Toll, Toll. Abends gabs ein gemeinsames Abendessen das die Guides zubereitet haben (und die können wirklich kochen 😁). Bier und Wein gabs kostenlos mit dazu. Zudem gabs noch einenen Zipline Parcours und einen Tarzan Swing (kostenlos) mit dazu. Ich kann mich nur bei dem Team bedanken, dass sie uns dieses unvergessliche Erlebnis ermöglicht haben. Einfach ausprobieren wenn ihr die Möglichkeit dazu habt. Es lohnt sich wirklich, weil es in Erinnerung bleibt!

Wow! What a place! The people, all the guides, the food, adventures, SAFETY, everything was amazing. The staff knows the river extremely well and are always keeping you safe and feeling safe. Proper training before rafting, canopying, hiking, Tarzan swing.. Best trip ever- I highly recommend! Bungalows where you sleep are so cool! Thank you to the entire staff - I feel like family after leaving there! Thank you!

Wow. It’s hard to put into words how fantastic our stay here was. Every last bit of the experience was top notch, but what will really stick in our memories was our rafting experience. Our guide Mateo was charming, kind and made us feel safe. What a trip!

Amazing weekend at Pacuare Outdoor Center. Great food, amazing scenery and memorable rafting trip along the Pacuare. A trip definitely worth repeating.
